Research Integrity
United Frontiers Publisher (UFP) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity, publication ethics, editorial independence, and scholarly transparency. The credibility of academic publishing depends entirely upon rigorous peer review, ethical research practices, responsible authorship, and absolute accountability throughout the publication process. UFP strictly follows internationally recognized principles of publication ethics and explicitly aligns its policies with the Core Practices and Ethical Guidelines developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We require all journals, editors, reviewers, and authors to firmly uphold these standards of scholarly conduct.
1. Research Integrity Framework
UFP establishes a comprehensive and consistent framework of research integrity and publication ethics across all its journals. This framework requires that all research published by UFP be conducted and reported with the highest standards of intellectual honesty, methodological rigor, transparency, and objectivity. Authors, editors, and reviewers share a collective professional responsibility to safeguard the integrity, reliability, and credibility of the scholarly record and to prevent research misconduct, misrepresentation, manipulation, and other unethical practices throughout the publication process.
2. Publication Ethics & Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made entirely independently of commercial interests, sponsors, advertisers, corporate entities, or the publisher’s financial considerations. UFP fiercely protects its editors-in-chief and editorial boards from external or corporate pressures. Editorial acceptance or rejection is determined solely by scientific merit, methodological validity, and ethical compliance, guaranteeing an uncompromised barrier between business operations and scholarly evaluation.

3. Peer Review Integrity
UFP journals implement rigorous, objective, fair, and confidential peer-review procedures to ensure that published research meets the highest standards of scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigor, and ethical integrity. Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment and must treat all submitted manuscripts and associated materials as confidential. Any attempt to manipulate or compromise the peer-review process, including fabricated reviewer identities, peer-review rings, or fraudulent reviewer recommendations, constitutes research misconduct and may result in manuscript rejection, retraction where appropriate, notification of relevant institutions, or other editorial actions in accordance with UFP policies.
All reviewers are expected to adhere to the professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards set forth in the UFP Peer Reviewer Code of Conduct, which provides comprehensive guidance on reviewer responsibilities and best practices.
4. Research Misconduct
UFP maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of research misconduct. Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate or redundant publication, text recycling (self-plagiarism), citation manipulation, authorship manipulation, peer-review manipulation, and any other practice that compromises the integrity, reliability, or transparency of scholarly research. Allegations of research misconduct are investigated in accordance with UFP policies and established editorial procedures. Where misconduct is substantiated, appropriate editorial actions may include manuscript rejection, publication correction, retraction, notification of relevant institutions or funding bodies where appropriate, and other measures necessary to safeguard the integrity of the scholarly record.
5. Authorship & Co-authorship
Authorship must accurately reflect substantial intellectual contributions to the conception or design of the research, data acquisition, analysis or interpretation, and manuscript preparation. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission and accept responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the work. UFP strictly prohibits unethical authorship practices, including guest, honorary, gift, and ghost authorship. Changes to authorship after submission must be justified and approved in accordance with UFP editorial policies. 6. Conflicts of Interest & Funding
All authors, reviewers, and editors are legally and ethically required to disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as biasing or influencing the objectivity of the research, review, or editorial process. Furthermore, authors must explicitly disclose all sources of financial or material support received for the reported research, including grant numbers, corporate sponsorships, and institutional funding. If no conflicts exist, an explicit statement affirming this must be included upon submission.
7. Human & Animal Research Ethics
Research involving human participants, human biological materials, identifiable personal data, or animals must be conducted in accordance with applicable ethical principles, institutional requirements, and relevant national and international regulations. Where required, authors must obtain approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Research Ethics Committee, or equivalent body before commencing the research and include a statement of ethical approval within the manuscript. Authors are also responsible for obtaining informed consent from participants where applicable and for ensuring the privacy, dignity, and welfare of research participants and animals are protected throughout the study. Editors may request supporting documentation relating to ethics approval or informed consent during editorial assessment.
8. Research Data & Transparency
To ensure reproducibility and scientific transparency, authors are required to maintain highly accurate, unaltered research records. UFP mandates that authors include a formal Data Availability Statement in every manuscript submitted across our portfolio, detailing where the supporting raw data can be accessed (e.g., via public repositories) or justifying any strict legal or ethical restrictions on data sharing. Editors reserve the right to request raw data during the review process; failure to provide it constitutes grounds for immediate rejection. This strict requirement underpins our commitment to open-science workflows and public data validation.
9. Artificial Intelligence & Image Integrity
Images and digital figures submitted as part of a manuscript must accurately represent the original, unaltered data. Selective digital adjustments, enhancements, or modifications that obscure, move, remove, or misrepresent scientific findings are strictly prohibited; any necessary processing must be applied uniformly across the entire image and explicitly detailed. Furthermore, the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted technologies in writing, data generation, or image creation must be transparently disclosed in the methodology or acknowledgments, specifying the tool used and the scope of its application. Because authorship implies accountability for the intellectual integrity of the work, AI tools cannot be listed as an author or co-author under any circumstances.
10. Post-Publication Responsibilities
UFP is committed to preserving the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. Where significant errors, ethical concerns, or research misconduct are identified after publication, appropriate editorial action will be taken in accordance with established publishing standards and UFP policies. Such actions may include the publication of Corrections, Expressions of Concern, Retractions, or other post-publication notices, as appropriate.
11. Complaints, Appeals & Whistleblower Protection
UFP provides mechanisms for authors, reviewers, editors, and readers to raise concerns regarding editorial decisions, publication ethics, or suspected research misconduct. Complaints, appeals, and allegations of misconduct are handled fairly, impartially, confidentially, and in accordance with established editorial procedures. UFP is committed to protecting individuals who report concerns in good faith from inappropriate retaliation and to ensuring that all matters are assessed objectively and without undue influence.
12. Enforcement, Sanctions & Governance
UFP is committed to upholding the integrity of the scholarly record through the fair, consistent, and transparent application of its research integrity policies. Allegations of research misconduct or ethical breaches are assessed in accordance with established editorial procedures and are handled on a case-by-case basis. Where misconduct is substantiated, appropriate editorial or administrative actions may be taken, including manuscript rejection, publication correction, retraction, temporary or permanent submission restrictions, or notification of relevant institutions or funding bodies where appropriate.
Reporting Integrity Concerns
Authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other stakeholders may report suspected research misconduct, publication ethics concerns, or editorial complaints in confidence. Reports should include sufficient information and supporting evidence to facilitate an appropriate assessment. UFP is committed to handling all reports fairly, impartially, and confidentially in accordance with its established editorial procedures.
